PM-related programs for student club members

BPMC provides the following programs for students interested in product management:

  • Product Week

  • Career Week

  • Lunch & Learn

  • PM Interview Workshops

  • On-the-Job Training

  • Socials

  • Fireside Chats with Industry Leaders

Below are some additional details about some of these programs.

Product Week

Product Week is one of BPMC’s signature programs. In this program, members explore how companies in different industries manage their products to meet the needs of their consumers, achieve sustainable long-term growth, and how PM/PMM are the propelling force for all of these crucial activities.

Career Week

During Career Week at UChicago, BPMC collaborates with the student council and with Career Services at Booth to provide a week-long series of programming. These programs support students in pursuing market-based, experienced-hire career paths.

Each panel brings together professionals from different industries and functions to share their expertise and insights and support students in advancing their careers.

Lunch & Learn Series

BPMC invites current PMs to join club members and share their experiences during the Lunch & Learn series. They encourage members to have casual conversations with the panelists regarding all things product.

PM Interview Workshops

In 2022, 2023, and 2024, BPMC partnered with Product Teacher to deliver a series of product management interview workshops, where they dove deep into product sense and product execution PM interview best practices.

In these sessions, attendees learned frameworks for breaking down interview questions, reviewed the rubrics that hiring managers use to assess responses, and assessed both “good response” and “bad response” roleplaying based on real-world candidate interviews.

Some quotes from student participants:

  • “The instructor was really good in explaining the concepts and was spot on with his frameworks.”

  • “Great example on how to come up with a structured approach.”

  • “I was pleasantly surprised to find it very accessible and easy to understand even as a newbie.”

On-the-Job Training

In 2023 and 2024, BPMC expanded its partnership with Product Teacher to provide students with on-the-job upskilling workshops. Its coverage included product discovery & design sprints, sketching & prototyping, and MVP definition.

How to join BPMC

Only current UChicago Booth students may join BPMC. Every Fall quarter and Spring quarter, BPMC will attend the club fair to promote membership. Booth students will have a chance to sign up as members directly through a Booth Group.
